Dairy Product Output Starts SlowWASHINGTON - Mar 3/06 - SNS -- Dairy product output opened 2006 above year earlier levels, but down from December, according to the USDA. Total cheese output (excluding cottage cheese) was 764 million pounds, 1.3% above January 2005 but 3.4% below December 2005. Italian type cheese production totaled 328 million pounds, up 3.4% January 2005 but 2.0% below December 2005. American type cheese production totaled 317 million pounds, 1.5% below January 2005 and 2.4% below December 2005.
