U.S. Tender Boosts Lentil SpiritsVANCOUVER - Feb 24/06 - SNS -- Lentil processors in the United States finished the week on a high note following the latest USDA PL-480 food aid tender. It is seeking offers of 18,660 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment in April. It is the second largest quantity sought by the USDA in a single month so far this marketing year. The most was the 23,610 MT bought for movement in September. More importantly, processors are now thinking the USDA will buy a record volume of lentils this season.
