Poultry Meat Stocks Up in January
WASHINGTON - Feb 21/06 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of January were up 7% from the previous month, and 24% above last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 946.5 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were up 2% from the previous month, and up 46% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were also up 8% on the month at 22.7 million pounds.
At 264 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 58 million pounds from last month and down 21% from last year.
