International Beans Steady to FirmerVANCOUVER - Feb 17/06 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets continued to improve over the past week, even as world markets were mainly flat in light trade. The spot market index for U.S. beans finished 15 points higher on inter-dealer markets at 719, while grower index was unchanged at 620 points for a 1.7 point decline in the grower's share of the market value of edible beans to 77.2%. So far during the 2005-06 marketing year, growers have received an average 79.4% of the value of bean markets, down from 82.84% in 2004-05, but above the previous 10-year average market share of 78.5%.
