Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - Feb 17/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week as rising cattle sales were overcome by declines in sheep and lamb offers. Throughput for the week totalled 24,637 sheep and lambs, up from 11,926 head the previous week, after falling the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,394, compared to 2,708 last week, for a second week over week gain. "The week was a good one for most sellers, but in particular cattle vendors who would be welcoming the return to good prices and a feeling of stability within that market sector," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
