Limiting Bean Growth PotentialVANCOUVER - Feb 10/06 - SNS -- The quantity of dry edible beans consumed by American households in 2006 will increase if usage rates for the various classes of beans are at least at their recent five-year average. Preliminary per capita usage estimates for 2005 still point to a 6.3 pound per person usage rate, while slightly lower average per capita consumption of 6.28 pounds would still be expected to result in at least a 4,000 metric ton (MT) increase in domestic disappearance.
