Australian Livestock Auction Action RisesSYDNEY - Feb 3/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week as rising sheep sales were overcome by declines in cattle offers. Throughput for the week totalled 19,462 sheep and lambs, up from 13,183 head the previous week, ending three weeks of declining activity. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,398, compared to 3,845 last week, after rising the previous week. "Moderate throughputs were the order of the week and the noticeable difference is in the lack of stock coming from Queensland," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Quality backgrounding steers appear scarce enough and was noticeable in today's sale as two lines of Hereford steers at Glen Innes, 347 and 317 kg, made 227c and 224.6c respectively" Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
