WCE Sets Daily Trading Record
WINNIPEG - Feb 1/06 - SNS -- The Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) Trade posted an all-time daily volume record on January 31, with 33,381 contracts traded.
The previous total daily volume record was set on February 14, 2001 when there were 31,957 contracts traded.
Another record was set on January 31, 2006 when total daily volume of trade in March 2006 Western Barley futures contracts reached 5,285 contracts. The previous daily volume record for a March Western Barley futures contract was set on October 31, 2005 when 3,544 contracts were traded.
