Desi Strong, Kabuli Weak in 2001-02
VANCOUVER - Aug 2/02 - STAT -- Chickpea markets finished Canada's 2001-02 marketing year on an easier note, contributing the general reduction in season average prices experienced by that country's market participants.
The crop does not have a long history in Canada, but inter-dealer markets for 8mm and 9mm chickpeas suffered steep declines from the highs recorded when the crop was being established in western Canada.
