Australian Livestock Auction Action DropsSYDNEY - Jan 27/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week as rising cattle sales were overcome by declines in sheep and lamb offers. Throughput for the week totalled 13,183 sheep and lambs, down from 18,040 head the previous week, for a third week of declining activity. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,845, compared to 1,616 last week, after falling the previous week. "Store cattle sold extremely well today, and of special note was a line of 102 composite steers bred by the well known Stephenson family at Springsure," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "They were 310 kg, DU accredited and made 225.8c or $722 a head. Across at Clermont, a silky line of grey Brahman heifers, account Mutation Pastoral Company, 241 kg, made 210.7c/kg."
