Lower Frozen Vegetable Stocks in December
WASHINGTON - Jan 23/06 - SNS -- Frozen vegetable supplies fell 9% during December to finish the month at almost 2,238 million pounds, up 1% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
Compared to the previous month, stocks of brussels sprouts, onion rings, peas and carrots, southern greens and chopped broccoli were up. Compared to last year, stocks of lima beans, brussels sprouts, cut corn, onion rings, and green peas were down.
Supplies of potatoes in cold storage were lower, dropping 7% on the month to 1,047 million pounds, down 3% from the previous year.
