Beans Moderately FirmerVANCOUVER - Jan 20/06 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets were moderately firmer on the week, helped by some buying interest from Mexico and some middle eastern destinations. This allowed the spot market index for dry edible beans to finish the week nine points higher at 709, while the grower bid index in the United States was unchanged at 599. The net result was the grower share of the market slipped from 76.6% to 75.7%. It has averaged 79.56% so far during the 2005-06 marketing year, down from an 82.94% share of the market value of beans in 2004-05, but above the 78.5% average market share of the previous ten years.
