Quiet Week For LentilsVANCOUVER - Jan 20/06 - SNS -- International lentil markets were relatively quiet during the past week against seasonal slowdown in demand, especially from Europe and the South America. European canners and packagers are mostly covered for the main part of the lentil demand, needing to have product ready when usage peaks in the winter months. South America, by contrast, is warmer now and consumption slows. However, buyers in the region will soon become more active, though some do not believe the market has made its lows for the marketing year and are willing to wait a little longer.
