Australian Livestock Auction Action DropsSYDNEY - Jan 20/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week as rainy weather in many areas kept producers at home. Throughput for the week totalled 18,040 sheep and lambs, down from 20,276 head the previous week, after falling the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,616, compared to 2,185 last week, after rising the previous week. "Markets across the board strengthened as the week progressed, most noticeably sheep and lambs," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Lambs jumped as much as $12, and our mutton sales showed improvements of $2 to $4 by the end of the week. It is suggested that only one boat will visit the Eastern coast in February but traffic should be more frequent thereafter." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
