USDA Buys for 2,000 MT PeasKANSAS CITY - Jan 13/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 2,000 metric tons (MT) of whole green peas for prepositioning at Lake Charles for future food aid needs. Under terms of PL-480 food aid tender invitation 016B, the USDA paid an average U.S. $10.14 per 100 pounds (cwt) on a delivered Lake Charles basis for the peas, up from the $9.04 cwt paid January 4 for 560 MT of whole green peas.
