South Korea Resumes Some U.S. Beef ImportsWASHINGTON - Jan 13/06 - SNS -- The United States and South Korea have reached an agreement which will see a partial lifting of the ban on imports of U.S. beef at the end of March. The agreement covers the import of beef ribs from animals under 30 months of age. When the import ban was imposed two years ago, South Korea was the third largest importer of U.S. beef, taking 199,410 metric tons (MT) in 2003 and 213,000 MT in 2002. Beef ribs normally account for 60% of shipments.
