U.S. Pulse Stocks Up On YearWASHINGTON - Jan 12/06 - SNS -- More pulses were on hand in the United States on December 1 than was the case the previous year on account of a major increase in supplies of field peas, according to the USDA's latest stocks in all positions estimates. Pulse crops stored in all positions on December 1, 2005 and the change from December 1, 2004 are: dry edible peas, 6.40 million cwt, down 17%; lentils, 3.08 million cwt, up 17%; Austrian winter peas, 280,000 cwt, up 23%; all chickpeas, 608,000 cwt, up 35%; small chickpeas, 92,000 cwt, up 80%; and large chickpeas, 516,000 cwt, up 29%.
