New Alfalfa Seedings Rise
WASHINGTON - Jan 12/06 - SNS -- Growers seeded 3.29 million acres of alfalfa and alfalfa mixtures during 2005, according to the USDA's final crop production report for 2005.
This is up 18% from the 2004 seeded acreage of 2.79 million acres. Seeded acreage increased or was unchanged from last year in all but 6 States.
