USDA Tenders for 2,000 MT PeasKANSAS CITY - Jan 11/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 2,000 metric tons (MT) of field peas for prepositioning at export locations for future food aid requirements. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 016B, the USDA expects to buy green and/or yellow peas for shipment between February 21 and March 5 from inland plants; and between March 6 and 20 for plants located at the port. Offers are due January 13 for reply the following day. The invitation covers the yellow peas the USDA did not buy on today's tender result, where it said asking prices were too high. That was the second tender in a row where the USDA rejected yellow peas offers on account of price.
