Indian Buyers Want Lower Pea PricesVANCOUVER - Jan 6/06 - SNS -- Field pea markets ended the week's trading mixed against relatively limited demand. The availability of new crop product from Australia was a factor on the Indian subcontinent, with buyers hoping for lower prices because of increased competition between origins. Markets in the United States were supported by the USDA's purchase of 5,270 metric tons (MT) of split yellow, 170 MT of split green and 560 MT of whole green peas for shipment in February.
