Dairy Product Markets Generally Firmer
WASHINGTON - Dec 30/05 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were largely stronger for the seven days closing December 24, according to this USDA data.
Cheddar Cheese prices received for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.42 per pound. The price per pound increased 2.0 cents versus the previous week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.40 per pound, up 1.0 cents from the previous week.
Butter prices received for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.33 per pound. The U.S. price per pound dropped 4.4 cents compared to the previous week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices paid for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged 96.2 cents per pound. The U.S. price per pound declined 4.3 cents from last week.
