Heads Up Display for Farmers

NEW YORK - Dec 16/05 - SNS -- Smucker Manufacturing is teaming with Motion Research Corporation to create the first Heads Up Display (HUD) guidance systems for agricultural applications.

To be available in 2006, the product will integrate SportVue PRO Heads Up technology with the Hemisphere GPS system. It will be marketed as the AgriVue Heads Up Display for Smucker's LandMark II GPS guidance systems.

The wireless AgriVue display system will be mounted on soft hats to give the farmer or tractor operator a constant real-time view of critical navigational information. The data appears in a personal display in the wearer's periphery, focused at task length.

Smucker's claims the "technology frees the operator from distracting glances at the light bar displays on current guidance systems. It transmits critical data in low and bright light, and is perfect for noisy environments. More importantly, it is more lightweight, compact, and affordable compared to current light bar displays."
