UK Expects Marrowfat CarryoverVANCOUVER - Dec 8/05 - SNS -- The United Kingdom will likely end the 2005-06 marketing season with a relatively large carryover of marrowfat peas, cautions the British Edible Pulse Association (BEPA). The implication for that country's field pea growers is they need to "consider forward prices for marrowfats especially the paler samples because with the limited outlets securing a forward home now could prove very beneficial." Growers in that country are starting to respond to the situation, with some "asking for re bids, realizing that things are not getting much better and they need homes for their marrowfats before harvest," BEPA said.
