South Africa Lifts Corn, Sorghum EstimatePRETORIA - Jul 22/02 - STAT -- South African corn production is now forecast at 9.098 million metric tons (MT) for the 2001-02 season, up 1.12% from last month's estimates, and almost 22% larger than last year's harvest. Numbers released by the South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS) also lifted production estimates for sorghum 2.9% above month earlier projections to 197,275 MT and sunflower 2.1% to 840,040 MT.
