Early Rise in Indian Pulse SeedingsVANCOUVER - Nov 15/05 - SNS -- Improved water supplies have encouraged India's farmers to more quickly plant rabi or winter season pulses than was the case last year. India's Agriculture Ministry says water reservoirs are holding an average 37% more water than at this time last year, making it the highest starting level of the past decade. As of November 3, there was an estimated 109.54 billion cubic meters (BCM) in the 76 major reservoirs in the country, up 27.70 BCM compared with last year; and 18.79 BCM above the previous 10 year average water level.
