Holidays Quieted Food Pea Markets
VANCOUVER - Nov 4/05 - SNS -- Trading activity on international field pea and chickpea markets was relatively quiet during the past week, reflecting the impact of major Muslim and Hindu celebrations.
Eid al-Fitr celebrations marking the end of Ramadan closed Pakistan and other Muslim nations the last half of the week, while India's trade was distracted by Diwali. The net result was few changes were noted in markets during the past week.
