Cargill Buys Wisconsin ElevatorNEW YORK - Oct 21/05 - SNS -- Cargill AgHorizons signed a letter of intent with the Wiegel Group to buy the Wiegel grain elevator in Shullsburg, Wis. Located 30 miles east of Dubuque, Iowa, the Schullsburg grain elevator is equipped with a grain dryer and features a 4-million-bushel storage capacity, making it the single largest grain storage unit in the state of Wisconsin. The elevator is currently owned by Joseph and Donna Wiegel. Pending approvals of the acquisition agreement, Cargill AgHorizons will commence storing grain sourced from the region at the 21-year-old facility in time for this fall's harvest.
