ABB Expands List of Charges on ReceivalsSYDNEY - Oct 21/05 - SNS -- Australia's barley marketing board, ABB Grain Ltd., is expanding the number of categories of storage and grain handling charges assessed against deliveries in an effort to better reflect costs to individual producers. The new structure for the 2005-06 season will see the number of charges expand from four to seven. The new charges include: receival, storage and segregation, carry, road/rail out-loading, port in-loading, port handling and shipping, and ship loading. The total storage and handling cost incurred by growers will vary depending on how many services are drawn upon. "With around 90% of grain stored by ABB used for export, the new structure is a truer reflection of where the costs are incurred along the chain from grower to export," the company said.
