Australian Livestock Auction Action FallsSYDNEY - Oct 21/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd dropped during the past week on gains in both sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 33,549 sheep and lambs, down from 36,088 head the previous week, after rising the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,328, compared to 4,138 last week, offsetting much of the previous week's gains. "Sheep and lambs experienced another tough week, particularly for slaughter grades," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Some quality young Rossmore blood ewes at Narrabri, made to $87 and similar wethers to $44, and 1st-cross ewes from Walgett made it to $102."
