Dutch Potato Harvest Falls
WASHINGTON - Oct 9/05 - SNS -- Potato production in the Netherlands is down 9.3% this year at an estimated 6.84 million metric tons (MT), according to a recent report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.
Reduced production stemmed from a 2% decline in harvested area to 161,000 hectares and a 7.7% drop in average yields to 42,460 kilograms per hectare.
