Organic Wool Growers Hike Promotional EffortDONALD - Jul 10/02 - SNS -- Some of Australia's certified organic wool growers are renewing efforts to take advantage of building demand in developed countries for chemical-free wool. With the help from A$40,000 grant from the Australian government the western Queensland group, called Grasslands, will try to sell processed wool to buyers in Europe, the United States and Japan. An estimated 600 metric tons (MT) of organic merino wool is produced around the world. But, agribusiness consultant David Johnson says that is not enough to meet demand.
