Pea, Lentil Harvest Nearly 90% DoneREGINA - Sep 26/05 - SNS -- Specialty crop harvest activity is entering the final stages in parts of Saskatchewan, though birdseed and chickpea growers have a long way to go before they are finished, judging from the latest crop progress report from Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food's weekly crop report. This year's field pea and lentil harvests are now almost 90% complete, with growers suggesting seven to 10 days of good weather will bring those harvests to a virtual conclusion -- though there will remain areas with a large percentage of local crops remaining in fields.
