New Zealand Livestock and Wool Market SummaryWASHINGTON - Jul 9/02 - STAT -- The latest weekly summary of New Zealand's beef, lamb and wool markets was released by the USDA today. Discussing beef markets, the USDA reports New Zealand trading in imported beef into the U.S. last week was stifled by their major July 4th holiday, with prices barely changing. A 4% higher than normal cow kill due to drought in the Southwest of the U.S. was the main reason for U.S. manufacturing beef retreating 10 cents per pound. Wit Asia/Pacific further awash with Australian beef after their U.S. quota system was ratified, t discounts for some New Zealand cuts going there has reached as high as New Zealand 75c/kg.
