68.8% of Nuts Sold on Shelled BasisWASHINGTON - Jul 8/02 - SNS -- The proportion of last year's nut harvest sold on a shelled basis was up over last year but down from 1999, according to sales data contained in the latest nuts annual report by the USDA. Total sales of hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans and pistachios are projected at 604,250 tons from the 2001 harvest, up from the 487,925 sold from the 200 harvest and sales of 587,550 tons recorded from the 1999 crop.
