Australian Livestock Auction Action Inches UpSYDNEY - Sep 19/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd jumped during the past week on gains in both sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 32,911 sheep and lambs, up from 31,689 head the previous week, for a second week of increased activity. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,029, compared to 910 last week, for a second week of modest gains. "Again this week no cattle were offered from Tasmania, only 130 head out of Queensland, and a rarity for WA, with no offering," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Follow up rains have begun falling and it is difficult to imagine where any substantial cattle numbers will come from in the short term."
