Argentine Fruit Production Rises
WASHINGTON - Sep 18/05 - SNS -- Apple and pear production is up sharply from 2004 in Argentine, with combined output now expected to increase 26% to 1.94 million metric tons (MT) this year.
According to the agricultural attache for the country, the industry attributes the gains to improvements in the agricultural practices carried out over the last two years in the main producing regions offset unfavorable weather conditions and, resulted in higher yields.
