Slovakia Sees Smaller Apple HarvestWASHINGTON - Sep 15/05 - SNS -- Commercial apple production in Slovakia is expected to drop 6.5% to 29,093 metric tons (MT) on account of cold and rainy weather during flowering time and wet conditions in summer, according to a recent report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. Total production is expected to plunge from 60,955 MT last year to just 39,093 MT. The major share of this decrease took place in the non-commercial production.
