Weekly U.S. Rail Loadings Increase
WASHINGTON - Sep 15/05 - SNS -- The number of carloads of grains and oilseeds delivered to U.S. ports for the week ending September 7 fell, according to the USDA's Transportation and Marketing Programs/Transportation Services Branch weekly Grain Transportation Report.
Total carloads delivered to major port areas during the week totalled 7,376, down from 8,407 the previous week. This lifted crop year to date deliveries to 291,063 cars, up 12% from the 259,917 cars unloaded during the same period last season.
