USDA Designates More Ag Disaster AreasWASHINGTON - Sep 14/05 - SNS -- The USDA designated 16 counties in Iowa as primary agricultural disaster areas, making certain farmers, ranchers and other agricultural producers in the counties eligible for low-interest emergency loans from USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA). The following counties were designated as primary disaster areas on Sept. 13, 2005, due to losses caused by drought that occurred on January 1, 2005 and continuing. Cedar Clinton Davis Des Moines Henry Iowa Jackson Jefferson Johnson Keokuk Lee Louisa Muscatine Scott Van Buren Washington Counties eligible because they are contiguous to those listed above include: Appanoose Benton Dubuque Jones Linn Mahaska Monroe Poweshiek Tama Wapello
