World Cotton Supplies ExpandWASHINGTON - Sep 12/05 - SNS -- World cotton production and ending stocks are larger than last month, according to the latest report from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board. Total world cotton production is now expected to total 111.53 million 480-pound bales, up from 109.79 million last month. Though consumption is expected to increase, it will not be as much, with the result residual supplies of cotton will expand by the close of the 2005-06 marketing year, expanding from last month's forecast 49.81 million bales ending stocks to a new forecast of 51.2 million. In addition to the larger U.S. crop, production is raised significantly in India, based on continued reports of excellent crop development.
