Hawaiian Papaya Output Down in AugustWASHINGTON - Sep 12/05 - SNS -- Hawaii fresh papaya utilization is estimated at 2.37 million pounds for August, down 4% from last month and 10% less than a year ago, according to the USDA's latest crop production estimates. Area in crop totaled 2,400 acres, down 7% from last month but 20% higher than August 2004. Harvested area totaled 1,465 acres, 7% less than last month but 40% higher than a year ago.
