Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - Sep 9/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd jumped during the past week on gains in both sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 31,689 sheep and lambs, up from 20,331 head the previous week, ending two weeks of declining numbers. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 910, compared to 821 last week, after falling sharply the previous week. "The short-term future of the cattle market is confusing to say the least. Somebody put a rocket under the dollar this week just when processors need it going the other way," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "To add to their woes, cow numbers in particular, are disappearing and have sold on a dearer trend all week." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
