UK Malt Barley Usages Advances 0.9%LONDON - Jul 4/02 - STAT -- Barley consumption by Britain's brewing industry is up this season, according to data compiled by the United Kingdom's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Barley usage by the country's maltsters advanced 2.3% in May to 150,700 metric tons (MT), lifting the season to date consumption 0.9% to 1,657,100 MT.
