New Crop Lentils and Peas Supply Now AmpleREGINA - Sep 6/05 - SNS -- Harvest progress in Saskatchewan was about what was expected by field pea and lentil processors in the province, with 54% of this year's lentil crop now in the bin, along with 58% of the peas, according to the latest crop progress report from Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food. As with other crops, harvest is furthest advanced in the southwest. Limited progress is reported in northern crop districts, which need an extended period of warm, dry weather to prevent further quality deterioration and to bring crops to harvest. Eastern areas were again delayed by rain, suggesting quality from that area will deteriorate further. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
