UK Feed Output Slips 2.7%LONDON - Jul 4/02 - STAT -- Livestock feed manufacturing activity in the United Kingdom during the past 12 months has slipped 2.7% from the previous 12 month period, according to the latest feed manufacturing statistics available from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The latest production data reveals 9,442,200 metric tons (MT) of feed was manufactured by the industry during the 12 month period ending in May. The percentage of cereal grains incorporated into the rations was 37.2%. Interestingly, incorporation rates rose in May, reaching 40.1% of the 685,600 MT of feed manufactured. Poultry feed was the most widely produced type during the past 12 months, with 2,873,400 MT produced in the United Kingdom, up 10.7% from the same period last year.
