Australian Livestock Auction Action DownSYDNEY - Sep 2/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week on declines in both sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 20,331 sheep and lambs, down from 22,319 head the previous week, for a second week over week drop. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 821, compared to 3,557 last week, ending two weeks of increased activity. "As was anticipated, sheep and lamb throughput fell for the second week in a row," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. On the other hand, the drop in cattle numbers was "against general thinking."
