BNSF Changes Hurt Pulse ShippersFARGO - Aug 19/05 - SNS -- Recent changes to BNSF Railway car ordering policies are expected to increase rates and decrease railcar supply for North Dakota field pea and lentils shippers. In a letter to BNSF President and Chief Executive Officer Matt Rose and Vice President for Agricultural Products Kevin Kaufman, 11 North Dakota agricultural organizations, including the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Association, and state Governor John Hoeven urged the railroad to put adequate railcars back into ordering programs for single, 26- and 52-car shipments.
