General Increase in Australian Auction Sales NumbersSYDNEY - Aug 19/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week against a general increase in sales numbers. Throughput for the week totalled 36,340 sheep and lambs, up from 28,446 head the previous week, more than offsetting the previous week's declines. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,451, compared to 2,138 last week, ending two weeks of decreased activity. "Clearances were much better than last week due to reserves being moderated a little and a definite increase in buyer activity," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
