Austrian Farmers Campaign Against BiotechWASHINGTON - Aug 17/05 - SNS -- One of Austria's largest organic farmers associations launched an anti-biotech campaign earlier this year as part of an ongoing effort to create "GMO-free zones" across the country, laments the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. "Austria is very well known for its anti-biotech position in the agricultural sector, as well as for having the highest percentage of agricultural area under organic production in Europe," the agricultural attache said.
