Small Hike in N.A. Pig InventoryWASHINGTON - Aug 17/05 - SNS -- North America's inventory of hogs and pigs stood at 75.8 million animals in June, up slightly on the year and up 2% from 2003 levcels, according to a joint analysi by the USDA and Statistics Canada. The breeding inventory, at 7.63 million head, was up 1% from both a year ago and from last quarter. Market hog inventory, at 68.2 million head, was up slightly from last year, and up 2% from last quarter. The pig crop, at 33.9 million head, was up 2% from 2003 and up slightly from 2004.
